Write each of them between 150-200 words .
3. Write a short story on any student from your imagination. Write within
150-200 words.
4. Read one of the two prescribed books:
(i) Swami and his Friends by R.K. Narayan,
(ii) Tales from Shakespeare by Mary and Charles Lamb.

Holiday Homework Class: 9 Subject: chemistry

1 Prepare a model to demonstrate movement of particles in solids, liquids and


gases.
For making this model you will need:--
A transparent jar
A big rubber balloon
A string
Few black gram or dry green peas.

How to make?

Put the seeds in the jar.


Sew the string to the centre of the rubber sheet and put some tape to keep
it tied securely.
Stretch and tie the rubber sheet on the mouth of the jar.
Your model is ready. Now run your fingers up and down the string by first
tugging at it slowly and then rapidly.

2 Read the lesson atoms and molecules regularly.

3 Revise the lesson matter in our surroundings.

The Biodiversity Project contains following sections

1. Section 1: - Extinct Species in India /World (SIA, SIB) 10 Indian & 10 world

2. Section 2: - Endanger Species in India /World ( SIC, SID) 10 Indian & 10 world

3. Section 3: - News clippings related to Biodiversity & any technological


development. / Your comment about then (5 News clippings)

Guidelines for making Biodiversity Project:


2. Biodiversity project should have an index page, content (pages should be
numbered), Bibliography / reference.
3. You need to collect photographs
4. A Biodiversity register should contain the following information about the fauna
or flora
a. Scientific name
b. Common name
c. Proper classification
d. Habitat
e. Characteristic features of plant
f. Identifying features of plants
g. Characteristic features of family
h. Uses of plant
Criteria of the Biodiversity Register:
1. Presentation should be impressive.
2. Neatness and Uniformity is required.
3. Contents should be appropriate.
4. Information material should be either typed or hand written. ( in case typed, font
size should be 14 )
5. Each page should have a page border and text if hand written should be legible.
6. Every information should have a proper heading
7. If any information downloaded from internet it should be properly edited ( i.e ;
reference no , hyperlink should be removed properly)
8. Bibliography should be properly maintained.
9. Photograph size should be uniform and equal.
10. Use of any non Eco-friendly material such as plastic, polythene, Chemical dyes or
paints etc is not permitted
11. Only one side of the sheet should be used.
12. Any interesting features about the species which has been highlighted in the
article regarding biodiversity and regarding problem faces in different species can
report in the project.

 Complete the three assignments uploaded on the school website.
