So design ~ core subject and other
allied subjects should support it from
outside. The vision /mission of an
architectural school depends how
seriously the Design as a core
subject is being dealt with

IF THE PREVIOUS SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE
41 (Vth semester) B.Arch students from
Dcrust Murthal have learnt content related
to passive solar and sustainable design,
importance of traditional architecture,
introduction to first principles while
designing energy and water-efficient
buildings, energy efficiency of building
systems, introduction to Energy
Conservation Building Code (ECBC) and
National Building Code (NBC).
A detailed lesson plan for Architectural
Design and other subjects was made
before the commencement of coursework,
so that each topic covered in the theory
subject and the assignments / exercises
were linked with the Architectural Design
Studio problem.

1973 Oil Crisis
In the days before going green was a thing, a whole country didn't use its cars
for a day. It wasn't a homage to the environment. It was because they were
running out of gas.

Tradition vs Modern
This is NOT meant to be a battle between traditional and modern forms of architecture.
Every district has its own traditions and, by trial and error, over thousands of years,
people have learned how to use, and to cope with, all the many factors which are involved
in Architecture. The Site, the Topography and Geology.
It is foolish, therefore, to abandon the tested findings of centuries of Science &
Technology.

From the Industrial Revolution to
now, what are the changes we
have seen in architecture, how
has it affected the way people live
and interact with their
surroundings
