Ethics
1. What is a minority group?

Is a term referring to a category of people differentiated from the social

majority, i.e., those who hold the majority of positions of social power
in a society, and may be defined by law.

2. Name three minority groups:

The Romani are a traditionally itinerant ethnic group, living mostly in
Europe and the Americas and originating from the northern regions of
the Indian subcontinent, presumably from where the states Rajasthan,
Haryana, and Punjab exist toda.] The Romani are widely known among
English-speaking people by the exonym "Gypsies" (or "Gipsies"), which
some people consider controversial due to its connotations of illegality
and irregularity.
The Jews are an ethnoreligious group originating from the Israelites,
or Hebrews, of the Ancient Near East. Jewish ethnicity, nationhood and
religion are strongly interrelated, as Judaism is the traditional faith of
the Jewish nation, while its observance varies from strict observance to
complete nonobservance.
Mexicans are the people of the United Mexican States, a multiethnic
country in North America. Mexicans can also be those who identify with
the Mexican cultural and/or national identity.
3. Why are the above considered minority ?
Because they are subordinate groups whose members have
significantly less control or power over their lives than members of a
dominant or majority group.
4. Who are the minority in the United States?
Hispanic Americans and Latino Americans are American citizens who
are descendants of the peoples of the Spanish-speaking countries of
Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. More generally, it includes all
persons in the United States who self-identify as Hispanic or Latino,
whether of full or partial ancestry.
5. What are some things you would like to know about any
minority?
