Ball
Dribbling - is an
important skill for all
basketball players. This
skill will allow you to
move up and down the
court, maneuver past
defenders and execute
plays.
Shooting - In order to
score points in
basketball, you need to
shoot the ball into the
hoop. This requires the
ability to properly hold
and throw the ball into
the air toward the
basket while avoiding
defenders.
Running - is a big part
of basketball. In a fullcourt game, you will
find yourself running
back and forth as the
game quickly
transitions between
offense and defense.
Passing - is another
skill that when mastered
can help you become a
complete basketball
player.
Jumping - is involved
in offense during the
jump ball in the
beginning, while taking

Catching
The right catching skills
allow a player not only to
catch the ball without
getting hurt but also to
position him to throw the
ball precisely.
Throwing
A quick and accurate
throw can make it hard for
the opposing team to
advance their runners or
make a score.
Fielding
Players are drilled on the
right way of fielding a ball
that is hit on the ground as
well as in the air. Fielding
drills also involve
knowing where to throw
the ball.
Hitting
Hitting is probably the
most challenging and
enjoyable skill to learn in
softball. Hitting a small
ball with a rounded bat
out to a particular area - in
the split of a second - is a
technique that softball
players must continually
practice and perfect.
Base Running
Running and sliding are
often done, a good pair of
softball cleats and a trusty
pair of supportive,
moisture-wicking softball
Batter
The batter competes
against the entire
opposing team, which will
strategise in a bid.
Pitcher
The pitcher throws, or
pitches, the ball from the
pitchers mound.
Catcher
Positioned in a crouch
behind the home plate, the
catcher plays a crucial role
in helping to gain points
First Baseman
The first baseman of each
team will stand at the first
base, to the right of the
pitcher.
Second Baseman
You will find the second
baseman at the second
base, which is positioned
opposite the home base
across the field.
Third Baseman
The third baseman has to
catch the hits that land
around his or her area.
Shortstop
The shortstop has many
responsibilities, including
catching and fielding, and
are very versatile and
agile players.
Outfielders
Their job is to catch and
throw balls that fly out of
