Directions: Write a linear equation to represent each situation below ( y = mx + b)
1. Paul and Jamie are making necklaces to sell at a craft fair. The tools and other start-up
materials cost $12.50. There is an additional cost of $3.25 per necklace.

2. When a tow truck is called, the cost of the service is $10 plus $1 per mile that the car must
be towed.

3. Your new job is at the Custom T Shop, where T-shirts are printed to order. For each order,
Custom T Shop charges $8.00 per shirt plus a one time setup fee of $15.00.

4. When a plumber is called, the cost of the service call is $50 for him to show up at your
house, plus an additional $25 per hour.

5. Your cell phone company charges $20 a month plus $0.50 per text message.

6. A phone company offers a mobile phone plan for a monthly fee of $19.95 plus $0.05 for each
minute used during the month. Write an equation below that best represents
