This file contains any last minute information you should be aware of and a list
of supported CD

Minimum PC spec
Techno 5 should run fine with the following PC system.

PC performance
Techno 5 is a very advanced software package and allows the production of songs
of great
complexity. However, the more you add to a song the more processor power and mem
ory you
will need (the CPU bar on the main song screen will indicate your CPU load). Eve
n the most
advanced PC will eventually slow down if you continue to add more sounds and eff
ects.
For instance, some of the sample songs provided with the package may require a m
ore powerful
system than the minimum spec. These are included to show what can be achieved wi
th Techno 5
if your PC is advanced enough. If your equipment is struggling and you still wan
t to listen to all
the sample songs then export them to .WAV files in order to play back cleanly. O
r you could
modify the songs and make them less complex.
Q:
Why can't I adjust the volume in Techno 5?
A:
Certain PC sound systems have the ability to sync the Windows Master Volume with
in the
Volume Control Panel. In this case, the volume control within Techno 5 will be o
verridden and you
will need to adjust the Volume within the Volume Control Panel.
Q:
Why Can I not burn on to a DVD R/RW or CDRW discs for Techno 5?
A:
Techno 5 only supports CDR compatible blank disc.

What music format does Techno 5 support?
A:
Techno 5 supports .WAV extensions.
Q:
Why is my DVD/CD burner not recognised when trying to burn a music CD?
A:
We have supported as many CD/DVD burners as possible at the time of product rele
ase. If your
Drive is not supported, we suggest that you go to the Golden Hawk website
(http://www.goldenhawk.com/) and click on the option Firmware Upgrades to review
the current
list of downloads that may help to correct the issue.
Note: Golden Hawk Technology maintains this list of firmware upgrades as a servi
ce to
customers and other CD-R users. All of these upgrades were written by the respec
tive CD-R
manufacturers, so Golden Hawk Technology do not provide any technical support on
how to
install them. Empire / Golden Hawk Technologies are not liable for any issues th
at arise from
using the Firmware Updates.
Q:
What graphic cards does Techno 5 support?
A:
Techno 5 will support Graphics Cards that have a minimum of 32MB of video memory
. Cards must
support DirectX 9.0 or higher and can be either PCI or AGP.
To ensure that you have DirectX 9.0 installed please use the following instructi
ons.
DirectX Diagnostic Tool:
From your Windows Desktop.
- Click on the Start button,
- Click on the Run option,
- Type dxdiag and press your Enter key or click 'OK',
- The Direct X Diagnostic Tool will load up,
- The information displayed will contain all of your system details.
- The last line of the system information will be the version of DirectX you hav
e installed. This
Q:
When using the CD burner, why can I not move my selected tracks into the Track l
isting?
A:
You must have a blank disc inserted into your DVD/CD burner for this function to
happen.
Q:
When using the Sample Studio (Rip a CD), How long can I record a sample for?
A:
The sample Studio will only record samples for 30 seconds.
Q:
Does Techno 5 support CDRs that are 90 and 99 minutes?
A:
Techno 5 does not support these size CDs. You can only use 74 or 80 minute CDs.
Q:
Why can I not sample from a CD from within Techno 5?
A:
We have tried to ensure that all types of motherboards & CD/DVD drives are suppo
rted at time of
release, but due to the ever expanding market regarding PC Components and periph
erals it is not
always possible to test everything so there may be compatibility issues regardin
g new products.
Q:
Why do I experience a virtual out memory windows error?
A:
Techno 5 uses Virtual Memory as a way of storing sound clips that are played. To
increase your
Virtual Memory please consult your windows Handbook/Manual or review the followi
ng Microsoft

Q:
Why can I only see Techno 5 files in the File manager of Techno 5?
A:
Only Techno 5 files will be visible in the file manager. No other file formats o
r types will be
displayed.

Why does my sound stop when previewing sound clips?
A:
If you move your mouse while a sound clip is previewing, the playback will stop.
