Preparing students to take the AMC multiple choice question exam


At HEAL, we know what it takes to prepare international
medical graduates for the Australian Medical Council
(AMC) multiple choice question exam. Weve been doing
it for over 25 years at VMPF.
So if you need to sit the exam, theres only one course
you should be looking at our MCQ bridging course.
Designed to give you the best chance of passing, this
full-time course is run over six weeks. By the end of it,
you will be able to show that you can apply your
knowledge in accordance with the exam requirements.

All the support you need


Over the duration of the course, you will be able to:
brush up on your knowledge in the five key exam
areas of medicine, surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry and obstetrics and gynaecology
practice questions and discuss answers as a group in face-to-face sessions with tutors who teach you from the
exam perspective
continue learning outside the tutorials with our new online e-learning tool
take part in one mock exam in the second half of the course, which will help you identify areas that need attention
and allow you to test the improvement in your language proficiency and medical knowledge.

When are the classes held?


Classes are held Monday to Friday, generally 9am to 5pm.

MCQ Bridging Course - Sydney


16 May to 24 June 2016
Course location: Granville TAFE. 136 William Street Granville (Sydney).
The HEAL MCQ Bridging Course is an intensive 6-week, full-time program offering tutorials and activities on common medical
conditions tested by the AMC. The Course also provides the opportunity to sit an MCQ trial exam, provides access to our
online e-Learning centre and access to Therapeutic Guidelines, for the duration of the course. Classes are 5 days a week,
Monday to Friday and generally 9am until 5pm with up to an hour for lunch.
The MCQ course is a topic based course using the AMC Handbook of Multiple Choice Questions and a range of other
relevant reference books and resources as the basis to teaching. Our structure is tried and proven and our results support this
approach. The HEAL course guides students to be more efficient in their preparation for the MCQ exam by highlighting topics
that are likely to be tested and focusing on what is important to pass the exam.
Our tutors undertake training which observes modern teaching principles, learning styles and structure and important
considerations that can affect the outcome of learning for students.
HEAL has the services of a medical advisor on staff who guides the program and curriculum. As a Professor of Medicine he is
also the medical advisor to Therapeutic Guidelines, a provider of reliable and independent therapeutic information to help
health professionals make the best decisions for their patients..
HEAL evaluates its courses via student feedback and makes changes to course structure as required to enhance the
experience for its IMGs.
