Uses of Sound Energy

Sonar uses sound waves to detect underwater objects like icebergs, and has many commercial and military applications. Sound is also used in medicine through instruments like stethoscopes and ultrasound machines to examine organs and fetuses. Radiant energy from the sun is captured by plants for photosynthesis and is used by people to dry crops and clothes. It also enables communication in space. Radiant energy in medical tools like X-rays and lasers examine the body. Nuclear energy generates electricity at power plants and radioisotopes diagnose and treat conditions like tumors in medicine.

Uses of Sound Energy

- Music from instrument and singers voices give life and inspiration to us. We
communicate and understand each other through our voices.
- We learn things and events around the world and outer space through sound.
Sound energy can serve as warning. Signals help us avoid accidents in the
streets and save us from danger even at home.
Sonar
Since communication is difficult underwater, scientists develop sonar system
which are used in many ways. Sonar uses sound waves to detect and determine
the location, size, relative motion of underwater objects. One use of sonar
system is detecting icebergs at sea. Sonar today has many commercial and
military applications.
- In medicine, sound energy has been successful. The stethoscope and
ultrasound machines make use of sound to determine abnormalities of organs
and fetus inside the body.
Uses of Radiant Energy
- Radiant energy is captured by plants through their leaves to make food.
Other process such as water cycle would not be possible without radiant
energy.
- Radiant energy or solar energy is used by people to dry their crops and their
clothes.
- Radiant energy makes communication possible even in outer space.
- Radiant energy has an important role in medical science. X-rays, laser and
scanning machines, makes use of radiant energy.
- Microwave oven makes use of microwave radiation that can cook food fast.
Uses of Nuclear Energy
- Nuclear power plant using power reactor can generate electricity.
- Nuclear energy in the form of radioisotopes has been widely use in the field
of medicine. Doctor uses radioisotopes to diagnose and treat patients
suffering from tumors, thyroid irregularities and cancers.
