2-3/8" & 3-1/8" MPR

Baker Hughes provides the industry with state
of the art Multiple Propagation Resistivity
(MPR) services in 2-3/8" and 3-1/8" toolsize
for slimhole applications, covering hole sizes
from 3" to 5-7/8".
The industry unique 2-3/8" MPR sub was
designed to be utilized with the CoilTrak
system on coiled tubing re-entry drilling
application.

The MPR subs feature a compensated, dual

frequency, dual transmitter / two receiver array
that provides a total of four quantitative
resistivities. The traditional 2 MHz operating
frequency offers excellent vertical resolution
for defining thin beds. The unique 400 kHz
frequency enables deeper formation
investigation for reservoir navigation
applications and provides greater immunity to
environmental and formation effect.

The 3-1/8" MPR sub can be utilized in three

different drilling and MWD systems, the
standard NaviTrak MWD system, the
Advanced Slim MWD system and also the
CoilTrak CT Drilling system. The mechanical
and electrical integration is supported by
system specific upper and lower adapter subs
connected to the main MPR body.
When added to the corresponding BHA
strings, mainly in intermediate radius re-entry
applications but also for standard slimhole
drilling operation, the MPR subs provide realtime formation evaluation services and geosteering capabilities to improve wellbore
placement.
