Math 1 Formulas To Know For The Eoc

This document provides formulas and properties for linear equations, quadratics, and the Pythagorean theorem that are important to know for the Math 1 EOC exam. It defines the slope formula, slope-intercept form, standard form, and how to find the slope from a graph for linear equations. For quadratics, it outlines standard form and how to determine if the parabola is u-shaped or n-shaped based on the leading coefficient, as well as how to find the y-intercept, axis of symmetry, and vertex. It also states the Pythagorean theorem formula.

Math 1 Formulas to Know for the EOC

Linear Equation Formulas:

Finding Slope from a Graph:
Slope-Intercept Form:

= +
m is the slope; b is the y-intercept.

Slope Formula:
Standard Form:

2 1
2 1
+ =
=

Quadratics:
Standard Form:

x 2 + +

Positive/Negative:

When the leading coefficient is positive, the

parabola is u-shaped; when negative, the
parabola is n-shaped.

Y-intercept:

The third term (c) is the y-intercept.

Axis of Symmetry:

Vertex:

Plug axis of symmetry (x) in to original equation

and solve for y. The vertex is the ordered pair,
(x, y).

Pythagorean Theorem:

2 + 2 = 2
C is the longest side of the triangle (the
hypotenuse).
