Existing Project Installation Guide
This guide covers the install of Documentum V4.1 existing projects using Documentum.
Carefully follow the instructions below to ensure a smooth transition to the new
software.
Multiple Documentum Projects
If you are working on multiple Documentum projects AND they are different versions,
you will only be able to access the Documentum projects from your desktop that
correspond to the Documentum version installed on your desktop. Web access is
available to all projects.
In the Three (3) Days Prior to Rollout
From software downloads under KBR Applications, install the following software:
(if you have any problems with this section, please call the help desk at x4357)
1. Windows NT Workstation 4.0 Service Pack 6a
2. Internet Explorer v5.01 SP1 for 95/NT (if not previously installed)
3. Adobe Acrobat 4.0 Full Version (if not previously installed)
Before you leave on Thursday Prior to Rollout
1. Check-in all documents back into Documentum. To ensure that this is
complete you can make sure the following subdirectory is empty:
C:\Documentum\Checkout
***The uninstall process will delete this directory.***
2. Delete any shortcuts on your desktop to cabinets, folders or documents
in Documentum. These will have to be recreated after you install the new
version of Documentum. In addition, your Documentum Favorites will also
have to be recreated. Failure to delete the shortcuts will cause your machine
to crash.

Monday Morning
1. From Software Downloads, (A) highlight Documentum 4.02 Uninstall and
(B) click on the install button.

NOTE: DO NOT CLICK ON THE OK BUTTON ONCE THE


UNINSTALL PROCEDURE STARTS! If the machine does not
reboot after 30 minutes, then click the OK button and reboot
the machine yourself.
2. After the uninstall process is complete, the machine will reboot. Log back into
your machine again.
3. From Software Downloads, highlight AutoVue 15.2 and click on the
Uninstall button.

and click on the install button.

6. After the install process is complete, the machine will reboot. Log back into

7. To setup your AutoCAD, MicroStation, and TIF file associations to use
AutoVue 15.3 when viewing these file types from Documentum, please open
the following file on the Documentum Web Page:

Note: This update is only for users that do NOT have the AutoCAD or
MicroStation software installed locally on their machines. These users
will use AutoCAD or MicroStation to view these file types.
