Power (EE) Questions

This document contains 5 units that discuss various power electronics components and converters. Unit 1 discusses the minimum requirements to turn on and off silicon rectifiers, bipolar junction transistors, and silicon controlled rectifiers. It also asks about the capacitance and critical dv/dt value for triggering a thyristor. Unit 2 discusses thyristor overcurrent protection ratings. Unit 3 covers continuous and discontinuous current modes in single phase converters. Unit 4 defines high frequency series inverters and differentiates them from parallel inverters. It also asks about the role of feedback diodes. Unit 5 explains the principle and operation of single phase AC regulators.
