Physical Member Interface: Purpose

STAAD allows grouping analytical members into physical members using PMEMBER commands. PMEMBER defines a group of collinear members with the same cross section and material properties. To create a PMEMBER, the analytical members must be interconnected, collinear, and have identical local axes. PMEMBER supports defining member properties, material constants, and loads like uniform, concentrated, and trapezoidal loads. Post-analysis results for physical members can be viewed using the PRINT PMEMBER FORCE command.
