Welcome Message from the International

Powerman Association
In the 90s, different organizers of leading duathlon races, including myself, met and decided to
establish the joint Powerman series. Until today, Powerman Zofingen remains to be the figurehead
to the series, and is Powerman is still the leading duathlon series worldwide.
I believe in the potential of duathlon in the long run, which I share with Raymund and the rest of
the F&F International Events Group, Inc. Together, we believe that Powerman and duathlon have
a huge potential in Philippines as it will continue to grow in the coming years. Being one of the
first few countries to host Powerman in Asia, the Philippines alongside Malaysia has sparked the
growth of duathlon across Asia. In 2017, Powerman Philippines will be among other Powerman
races in Asia, specifically Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Powerman Philippines is also a
candidate venue for the Asia Championships in 2017 or 2018.
I wish good luck to all the participants of Powerman Philippines! Heres to more power to duathlon
and to more years of Powerman in the country!

John Raadschelders
President

Welcome Message by Maybank CEO International Pollie Sim

We are delighted to be part of this synergic partnership with Powerman Philippines for the
anticipated Powerman Asian Invitational and World Series that will be happening on November
20th and December 3rd to 4th consecutively.
The Powerman sponsorship helps to connect and strengthen Maybank Philippines relationship
with the community through sportsmanship. This supports Maybanks vision of Humanising
Financial Services, to be at the heart of community while building ASEAN together. Were hopeful
that with such involvement, we are not only nurturing talents from the Region, but also building
collaboration with our ASEAN and global community at large.
The Powerman sponsorship is indeed a milestone for Maybank as it is the first time that Maybank
is in support of an endurance sports event. What makes it even significant is the decision to pilot
this kind of sponsorship with Powerman Philippines a relatively emerging market for Maybank.
With its social media presence and growing fanbase, Maybank believes that Powerman is highly
driven by digital. This element is one of the key factors on why Maybank decided to take part in
this sponsorship. Being one of the largest bank in ASEAN, it is Maybanks vision to be the digital
leader among Financial Institutions. With both Maybanks and Powermans extensive digital
outreach, Maybank has good faith that the said mission can be achieved.
For Maybank, the Powerman Duathlon is testimony to our commitment in the pursuit of leadership.
We have a strong focus on excellence and growth which is similar to what professional duathletes
strive for. Duathlons are also great opportunities for relationship building which is another value
that we live by in Maybank. Associating Maybank with Powerman energises the brand further.
This sponsorship is made possible with cooperative efforts, mutual understanding and respect
from both Maybank and Powerman Philippines. On behalf of Maybank, I would like to thank you
for embarking on this exciting journey with us. We are confident that together as a team, we will
make Powerman Asian Invitational and Powerman World Series truly outstanding duathlon events
to end year 2016!
