Machines capable of carrying out a complex series of actions

automatically, especially on programmable by a computer.

[10 of the Best]

Watson

developed in IBM's DeepQA project by a research team led by principal investigator David Ferrucci.
Watson is a question answering (QA) computing system that IBM built to apply advanced natural language
processing, information retrieval, knowledge representation, automated reasoning, and machine learning
technologies to the field of open domain question answering.
Watsons intelligence can be inputted into physical forms that allow a robot to become more aware. Watson is
essentially an AI that is capable of advancing the intelligence of robots.
Watson is able to understand a million books per second (500 gigabytes)
Watson doesnt have a definite size or shape because he is being implemented into vessels.

Robot pole Dancers

Robot strippers, named Tess and Lexy built by Tobit Software

The robot is capable of dancing on poles and being very entertaining.
The good thing about Tess and Lexy is they are fully functioning and moving robots with human features, One thing
that could make the robot better is adding realistic faces on the heads.
You can get your very own Tess and Lexy for only $40,000.
Can be controlled via PC or phone
They Use 12V motors
The dancing can be described as the robots stand in place and gyrate their hips a little and move their free arms.
Tobit Software is currently trying to change the color of the robots and add bigger breasts
Robot is approximately 5 feet 10 inches

KeepOn

Keepon is a small yellow robot designed to study social development by interacting with children. Keepon was
developed by Hideki Kozima while at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)
in Kyoto, Japan.
Keepon interacts with sounds and environment by jumping up/down, leaning left/right, and spinning left/right.
The robot is overall good because it shows how to be attentive and actions, but if anything is be added, a way to show
emotion.
Has a built in microphone, listens to music, touch sensitive, craves attention, and moves (dances).
About 10 inches tall.
Keep on is so popular it is sold out all around.

RoboBees

Developed by research robotics team at Harvard University

They have tiny bodies and wings that flap approximately the same frequency as a bumblebees wings.
They are still connected to a power source to power the beating wings.
Scientists are still trying to make them maneuver as fast as an actual bee and be able to allow it to respond to its
environment.
These robots are autonomous which means they are capable of moving on their own.
Wingspan is 3 centimeters
These robots are will be useful, but something that can be improved upon is the obvious power source problem, but
the use of these bees can help pollinate flowers in a controlled environment.

RoboBees

NK-01

The suit was developed by FutureWise.

The purpose of the suit is to be an exoskeletal outfit for entertainment.
A person can climb in and control the suit much like the superhero ironman; however, the suit is not intended for
heavy battle.
The suit is just that, a suit, it would be cool to use this stuff in war, but it doesnt seem like that would happen
The suit isnt autonomic and requires manual operation.
The suit is close to six foot
As technology improves the suit could essentially be used more practically

NK-01

WheeMe

A palm sized robot, designed for relaxation of the messages.

WheeMe uses sensory technology moving along the back creating a soothing sensation, and vibrates when moving to
calm muscles.
WheeMe was created by DreamBots is used to give the user a massage
Good things about this include the size meaning it it easy to transport, but it cant really get into muscles because it
doesnt have a strong force.
The robot costs about $70
This robot is really useful for people that play sports or but physical strain on their body, however the robot should
use more force and heat/cold to help with body recovery.

WheeMe

Stanley

Stanley is an autonomous car created by Stanford Universitys Stanford Racing Team.

Stanley uses an on- computer to navigate which allows it to build a 3-D map of the environment,
supplementing the position sensing GPS system.
An internal guidance system utilizing gyroscopes and accelerometers monitored the orientation of the vehicle
and also served as sensor data.
Stanley Is a good idea

Stanley

Twerk Bot

A futuristic twerking robot built by Alterian Inc for a music video, but is also sold on amazon.
The robot can emulate a human dancing and twerking by scanning the movements of twerking dancers into a
computer and making a silicone cast of a perfect derriere.
The robot retails for about $1,000
The robot is meant to get more people to dance, and express themselves through body movement.
The robot isnt the best idea but if its intention is to get more people to dance then I believe it is better to construct
the entire human body and enable the robot to do more besides twerk.

Twerk Bot

LineFORM

LineFORM is developed by MIT

A shape-shifting interactive robot that can transform into everything from a mobile phone to a data cable to a lamp.
Is about 24 inches long.
The robot opens up new possibilities for display, interaction and body constraint.
LineFORM uses a series of actuators that can move independently or together to arrange itself in new shapes.
LineFORM acts as an intelligent cable, that is capable of recognizing a number of modules, transforming where
necessary.
LineFORM is an expressive cord.
The idea behind LineFORM is interesting and it could be quite practical; however, the robot can be improved upon if
it is more practical.
LineFORM is overshadowed by other technological developments.

Siri

Siri is an aid that can be found in apple iphones.

Siri is integrated in iphones and is capable of doing refine google searches, mathematical problems, get directions,
deposit/withdraw money, and recognize voices.
Siri is helpful and all however Siri does have a problem of understanding voices so it would be good to fix that.
Siri is also limited to what has been input into its system, if it were to eventually turn into an AI that would be top
Siri was created by Dag Kittlaus, a 34 year old man from norway.
Siri is completely active with its user and even has fun easter eggs and conversations with the user.
