Argument Lesson Day 5

This daily lesson plan is for an 8th grade argument writing seminar. On day 5, students will learn why it is important to support claims with relevant evidence. The lesson will have students act as crime investigators to analyze a visual prompt and gather evidence to support their claims. The teacher will model how to fill out a graphic organizer to show evidence and warrants. Students will then work independently and in groups to complete their own organizers, with the teacher providing guidance and assessing understanding.
