Precautions
1. Before installation, please read the detailed steps in this tutorial PROPERLY before you do
anything to your tablet! Make sure you understand what youre doing before you start. Ask for
help if you need it. Its better and SAFER than risking bricking your tablet.
2. The installation of a rom to the system will clear all data on the disk, so make a backup of personal
data and apps with the Titanium Backup app or similar (only works with rooted devices).
3. Make sure your tablet is charged to at least 60%, because if the battery is low this could cause
problems with the installation of the software.
Preparation
1. Before proceeding with the flashing process, MAKE SURE THAT POWER OFF YOUR TABLET
FROM THE ANDROID OS. If you are in Windows you MUST switch to the Android system. If for
any reason your tablet wont boot up properly, and you dont know or are unsure which system
it is currently in you will need to enter the Bios settings in the default startup system, ie android.
(There is a Bios setup method guide in the last appendix of this tutorial).
Steps
1. Open the Flash Tool folder which will have Chinese writing on it relabel it in your own language
for future reference (I called mine Drivers & Flashtool) then, install the following three programs
on your computer in this EXACT order number them as shown in diagram below for ease of use.
a)
1_iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-1.2.0.exe
b)
2_IntelAndroidDrvSetup1.5.0.exe
c)
3_ManufacturingFlashTool_Setup_6.0.43.exe
Special note:
1. If you have installed similar software on the computer before, please uninstall to prevent
conflict.
Blandroids Note:
A program called USB Deview will help you identify all the current drivers installed on your
computer so you can uninstall them if necessary.
Android
Blandroids Note:
If you have already flashed software on this tablet using THE SAME COMPUTER you are about
to use now, you WILL NOT NEED TO INSTALL THE DRIVERS NOR THE FLASHTOOL so long as
you havent removed them of course. When you right-click on the Flashtool then click on
Properties, when it opens it will already have all the relevant information there from the last
time you used it. YOU CAN SKIP STEPS 2, 3 & 4 completely.
2. After the installation of the 3 programs is complete, you will see the following icon on your
desktop
Right click on it, then select Properties from the menu, which will open the
following window:
3. Click on the Open file location button, then enter the installation directory Manufacturing
Flash Tool which should be in your C drive and mapped just like its shown in the picture
above. Next, you will need to copy the Flash Tools folder
file to the
installation directory:
Blandroids Note:
I dont know if it was strictly necessary but once again I copied the Custom_Config.ini file to
the installation directory, just in case it is different in this firmware than what I used in the
previous firmware. Use Copy/Paste to ensure you overwrite whatever is pre-existing. You will
need to give Admin authorization to do this just click on Yes when box pops up.
Android
4. Run Manufacturing Flash Tool then in the upper left corner go to File then Settings and the
Settings box will open. It defaults to the General Properties tab which is where you need to
make some small changes. Under SOC Devices change VID to 8087 and PID to 0A65. Under
Android Devices, make sure that VID is 8087 and PID is 09EF. These were already correct in
my case obviously you dont need to change them if they are. The red box below shows
exactly where you need to make changes as I just described. When finished, click on Apply,
then OK and the box will close.
Android
5. In the Flash Tool, go to File-> Open at the top left and the Choose Flash File box will open.
Click on the file as shown below its the FLASH_KeepWindowsPartitions.xml file to load the
firmware into the Flash Tool. Click on OK
Android
6. After successful firmware configuration, the file is loaded into the bottom of the Flash Tool and
displays the path to the firmware information as below:
7. Hold down the volume rocker button, then press the power button AT THE SAME TIME to
boot into flash mode, so the upper left corner of the screen appears as shown in the following
figure.
Release all buttons, and plug in the USB cable to connect your tablet to your computer.
This time the computer will prompt the discovery of new hardware and automatically install
the driver.
Blandroids Note:
If youre using a Windows 8 or 8.1 computer, you may have difficulty installing drivers that
are unsigned which these will be. You will need to Google the workaround for this which
is pretty easy to follow but there a quite a few steps. It is NOT difficult to do its much
easier than flashing roms ;)
For people like me who have already flashed this tablet and installed the drivers previously,
you will just hear the Windows sound that plays when you add a device and the flash will
start almost immediately.
Android
PLEASE DO NOT DO ANY OTHER OPERATIONS ON YOUR PC/LAPTOP. Wait for the driver to autoinstall then as the computer starts processing the firmware, a blue progress bar appears on the
tool.
When the progress bar reaches 100% this indicates that the flash has completed and you should
get a message at the bottom of the Flash Tool confirming that the flash was successful.
At this time the tablet should reboot.
.
NOTE
1. If the flash is unsuccessful, unplug the USB cable, and then press the power button on the
tablet for about 20 seconds to force shutdown, then repeat the process again from step 6.

Appendix: For use when your tablet wont boot and you
need to get it into the Android OS for flashing.
First you will need an OTG cable to connect a keyboard to your tablet. Boot up tablet and press
the Esc key on the keyboard to access the menu options as below. Press the right arrow key on
the keyboard to select the icon marked SCU setting options shown in the red box as follows:
1. Press the keyboard arrow keys to the right, select Advanced and press the Enter key to enter.
Select the Android OS in order to proceed with flashing firmware.
2. Press the keyboard F10 key to save and exit after setup is complete.
