Ponce de Len, Jacques Cartier, and
Christopher Newport.

Directions for Use


Please provide step-by-step instructions for
your students to use the tool to complete
their assignment. Depending on the age of
your student, this might begin with 1. Click
on Earth to open the Internet. Etc..

1. Log on to laptop and open up


Google Chrome web Browser.
2. In the web address box type in
www.slatebox.com
3. Scroll down until you see Join
Students and Teachers Making
Beautiful slates.
4. Click Go for Are you an individual.
5. Now you will begin creating your
Slate.
6. On the start here Slate the
student will type in the explorers
name (The students will have to
double tap the bubble in order to
type in it.)
7. To create another slate groups
will have to have the mouse
hover over the slate. Once you
see the right arrow click it.
Another slate should appear
connected to the first slate.
Students can click and drag the
slates wherever you want them
to be placed.
8. Students should include in the
mind map the sponsor, the
reasons for exploring, and their
successes and accomplishments.
