Beginning and Ending The Day: Observation Task 7: Classroom Management and Teacher Talk

The teacher arrives before students and ensures students line up inside the classroom in an orderly fashion. She begins each day with a song or exercise and allows students to eat snacks. Throughout the day, the teacher reads stories and engages students in different activities, providing clear instructions when transitions occur. When misbehavior happens, the teacher responds calmly to redirect students, and they listen attentively. She is able to gain students' attention nonverbally by closing her eyes if noise levels increase during activities.
