Chit Chat

The document contains an observation table from a KG2 classroom with 20 learners. It observed the reasons students spoke during a 15 minute lesson taught in both Arabic and English with a story reading learning goal. The most common reasons for speaking were answering direct and open questions from the teacher and asking the teacher questions. The least common was answering peers informally. The reflections analyzed that 7 minutes of teacher talk was appropriate and Arabic was used appropriately to support but not replace English language learning.
