RKWC Teaching Practice Lesson Plan: Student Teacher

The lesson plan aims to teach kindergarten students about rhyming words. It will begin with the teacher explaining rhyming words and showing picture cards with rhyming word pairs. Students will then work individually to answer questions on a worksheet about rhyming words. The teacher will help any students struggling to read the words. Finally, the class will return to the carpet area for a rhyming word game where the teacher points to a body part and says a rhyming word for students to identify the body part. The plan addresses potential issues like students' inability to read the worksheet and lacks contingency plans for early finishers. Feedback was provided to show the worksheet example earlier and have backup plans available.

Worksheet

Hello,
Feedback-Thank you for sending me your lesson plan. It is a very good layout. I like that you identified the
problem that some students wont be able to read the words on the page. To fix this problem maybe on
the carpet before hand the objective for the students would be that they can identify the pictures. Also,
maybe instead of sending the kids to their seat and then showing them an example of how it will be done
you could show the worksheet example to them on the carpet and help them think it through. Lastly,
maybe it would have been beneficial to have a plan ready for kids if they finish the worksheet early.
Other than those few things the plans look great and they learned a lot from your lesson. Thank you!
