SCOPE & OBJECTIVES

The scope of this Method Statement is to set-out the method to be adopted for Rectification of Excess Gap between
the Door frame and wall in connection to the buildings and associated works for the above mentioned project and
to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance to the Contract Documents, Specifications & QA/QC
Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

5.1

Project Manager must ensure:


Excess gap rectification works are carried out in accordance with the drawings, specifications and
authority regulations.
Sufficient manpower and equipment is deployed to execute the activity in a safe and timely manner
and be cognizant of the project planning.
Co-ordination with the Consultant, Safety Engineer, Site and QA/QC Engineer thus ensuring that
works are executed safely and correctly.

Site Engineer must ensure:


Excess Gap rectification works are carried out in accordance with specifications and drawings.

Main Contractor:

To disseminate all relevant information to the Foreman and Gangers and allocate responsibilities to
the construction team.
Progress is in accordance with the programme of works.
That plant and manpower are utilized in an efficient and safe manner.

Q.C. Engineer must ensure:

That the works are executed in accordance with project specifications and approved related quality
procedures.
That inspection request for completed works is raised for the Consultants approval in accordance
with the approved Inspection and Test Plan.
That all records of inspections and tests carried out are kept in an orderly fashion for further
reference.

HSE Officer must ensure:

The implementation of all safety precautions by the construction team as per method statement, risk
assessment approved by the consultant and in accordance to the Authority regulations.

PROCEDURE / METHOD TO BE FOLLOWED:

6.1

Preparation

Pre-commencement Requirements
Approved work procedures shall be obtained from Consultant prior to start of activity.
Approved Materials will be used for the rectification works.
Safety regulations and Material storage as per specifications and standard.

Procedure :
Excess gap rectification between the Door frame and Dry wall :

CMC will identify the doors having the issue of Excess gap more than 50mm between the door
frame and wall.

Main Contractor:

The Gap less than 50mm will be covered by door Architrave so that the gap will be filled by
approved filling material like foam.
CMC will remove the installed door frames and stored properly to avoid any damages.
Extra care will be taken while removing the door frames to avoid the damages / scratches.
Surveyor will mark the required door opening size as per approved shop drawing.
Specified Galvanized stud will be fixed along with wooden support.
Gypsum board will be fixed above the stud and the finishing will be done as per approved MS
of Dry wall Partition.
Consultant will be notified through inspection after completion of work prior to door frame
installation.
Consultants comments on work shall be rectified and notified for re-inspection, if any.

Excess gap rectification between the Door frame and Concrete wall / Block wall :

CMC will identify the doors having the issue of Excess gap more than 50mm between the door
frame and wall.

Main Contractor:

The Gap less than 50mm will be covered by door Architrave so that the gap will be filled by
approved filling material like foam.
The foam filled in the excess gap will be removed up to the required level.
Suitable shuttering will be fixed without damaging the Door frames and the shutter will be look
like post box.
The door frame will be protected by polythene sheet to avoid damages and slurry spillages due
to that grouting works.
The approved Polycrete MC will be mixed as per the manufactures recommendation and it will
be poured to fixed shutter until the grout will get over flow from the shutter.
Ensure that the grout filled properly.
Shutter can be after 24 hrs and the projected portion of the grout can be removed by grinder.
Apply the approved curing compound Polycure AC on the top of grout.
Consultant will be notified through inspection before and after completion of work.
Consultants comments on work shall be rectified and notified for re-inspection, if any

10. HEALTH AND SAFETY PROVISIONS:

All the safe practices will be adopted during the works.


Wherever the special work permit is required will be taken before commencing that particular work.
All necessary personal protective equipments to be used.
Proper access for the labours and equipments will be provided to the place of works.

Site will be cleaned from all the debris, steel waste, nails etc.
