The document discusses the development of early writing skills in children. It outlines three developmental writing stages: beginning sounds emerge, strings of letters, and conventional spelling. It links the stages to supporting activities like worksheets and using sticks. It also provides suggestions for further development, such as using clay, tracing cards, and the smartboard. The reflection notes that most students are in the strings of letters stage. It recommends writing activities and playing with clay as strategies the teacher can use to help students at that stage improve their writing skills.
