Cause-Effect Essay

1. Introduction
A. Hook
The world of communication broadens and more broadens day by day, and
nowadays English is considered as a global language. That is the main reason of
why many people learning English as a second language.
B. Controlling Idea
Unlike the people who use English as a mother language, most of the people in the
world learn English as a second language. The former type of people learned
English naturally, but the latter types are not.
C. Thesis statement
The main point is, the native language affects significantly to learn the second
language, English, by these three reasons, grammar structures, pronunciations, and
cultural background.

2. Body
A. Topic sentence 1
First language grammar structures can interfere to the second language structures.

1) There are various types of grammar structures.


2) Second-language learners usually apply their grammars into the foreign
language.
B. Topic sentence 2
Pronunciation also affects learning the second languages because the kinds of
pronunciation are very various.
1) English Pronunciation in French: zis and zat
2) English Pronunciation in Japanese: coffee and ko-hi-
C. Topic sentence 3
Finally, the background of language, culture can has influence on acquiring foreign
languages. Language and culture cannot be separated because cultures of nations
influence to their languages.
1) Language environment: The frequency of natural using of the second
language
2) The way of communication: extra information comes first or the main point
comes first

3. Conclusion
A. Restated thesis
In conclusion, there are three points of how the native language affects to the

second language, and they are grammar structures, language sounds, and
differences of background culture.
B. Writers Opinion
People say that some languages were very easy to learn, but some were very
difficult. There might be other various factors that have a power to determine the way
of learning the foreign languages.
