Consumer states unit will not spray


Solution 1:
Is the solution tank empty?
Yes, refill solution tank, problem solved

No

Ensure solution tank snapped into the unit securely.

How?

Remove solution tank and re-install. Place the solution tank


bottom first into the cavity, then tilt it forward, pressing gently at
the top until it snaps closed. Is the unit spraying now?

No

Yes, problem solved

Is the tab on the solution tank lid damaged or missing?


No, is the U-Clip in unit damaged or
missing?

No, proceed to solution 2

Yes, advise customer to call Bissell Free Call


1800 number again and press Option 3 for
spare parts and order replacement solution tank

Yes, refer customer to an Authorized Service Center

Solution 2:
Check to see if unit lost its prime.

How?

Turn unit off. Remove Upholstery Tool

Press trigger for 30 seconds with unit off

Turn unit on, press the trigger, and push into the center of the solution tank. Does unit spray now?

No, check to see if water line inside flex hose is


kinked or being pinched off.

Yes, check to see if upholstery tool is clogged by


cleaning spray tip with a paper clip. Does unit
spray now?

How?

No, refer customer to an


Authorized Service Center

Yes, problem solved

Suction up a full tank of hot tap water into the


collection tank and return to See if unit lost its
prime. Does unit spray now?

Yes, problem solved

No, refer customer to an


Authorized Service Center

Solution 1:
Is the collection tank full? (ie. Has dirty water tank reached the indicated maximum fill line?)

Yes, empty collection tank, problem solved

No

Ensure collection tank is locked into the unit securely.

How?

Remove collection tank and re-install by placing the collection tank bottom first into the cavity,
then tilt it forward, pressing gently at the top until it snaps closed. Does it lock into place?

Yes, try unit now, is there suction?

No, is U-Clip on the unit damaged


or missing?

No, proceed to solution 2

Yes, problem solved

No, the Collection tank clip may be


broken, advise customer to call Bissell
Free Call 1800 number again and press
Option 3 for spare parts and order
replacement collection tank

Yes, refer customer to an Authorized Service Center

Solution1:
Ensure collection tank is locked into the unit securely.

How?

Remove collection tank and re-install by placing the collection tank bottom first into the cavity, then tilt it
forward, pressing gently at the top until it snaps closed. Does it lock into place?

Yes, turn unit on. Is there suction now?

No, is U-Clip on the unit damaged or


missing?

No, proceed to solution 2

No, the Collection tank clip may be broken.


Advise customer to call Bissell Free Call 1800
number again and press Option 3 for spare
parts and order replacement collection tank
Yes, problem solved

Yes, refer customer to an


Authorized Service Center

Solution 2:
The gasket on the unit, above collection tank may be missing or damaged

This is quite normal as the unit requires a lot of power to get deep down and extract
all the deeply embedded dirt out of your carpet.
