Features of Functions Project
Features of Functions Project
!
For this project you will be using what we have learned about features of functions to create your own
graphs of functions. You will then decorate each graph, using the features/shape of the graphs to create a
design of your choice. The line for your function must be easily identifiable (use a black marker or
something that will stand out against your decorations).!
!
You will need to create a total of four different graphs meeting certain criteria. The criteria needed for
each graph is below:!
!
!
!
1) This function has a value at f(2) that is positive; f(-2) = 0, f(x) is always increasing; and !
has a domain of All Real Numbers. !
!
!
2) For this function, f(3) > f(6); f(1) = 0; f(2) = 4; f(x) is increasing from [-5,3) and nowhere ! !
else; has a domain from [-5,10].!

Your graphs must all fit on one sheet of graph paper (divide each side of the paper into two graphs).
20% of your maximum grade will be deducted if turned in late. Copy each of the features listed above onto
your graph paper underneath the corresponding graph.!
!
!
Everybody's graphs will be unique. Your graph (NOT JUST THE DECORATIONS) should look
DIFFERENT than your peers graphs. You will be graded on the following criteria:!
Criteria
10
Accuracy of
graph #1
Accuracy of
graph #2
Accuracy of
graph #3
Accuracy of
graph #4
Decoration shows
some creativity
and effort. Graph is
neat and easy to
see.
Decoration appears
rushed, or displays
minimal effort.
Graph is somewhat
easy to identify.
Graphs not
decorated or graph
cannot be
identified.
