EA components are the active elements of the enterprises business and technology operating environment. The relationship between EA components and EA Framework is, an EA Framework provides an overall structure for modeling the enterprises business and technology operating environment, while an EA components are the working elements of the framework at each level. In other words, EA components are building blocks of EA framework that create discrete parts of the overall IT operational capability. 2. EA artifacts are types of documentation that describe EA components, including reports, diagrams, charts, spreadsheets, video files, and other types of recorded information. A home architecture analogy is often used to illustrate the relationship between EA components, and EA artifacts. EA components are like the rooms of the house. Rooms can be added, remodeled, or taken away. While EA artifacts are the descriptions of each room, and can include statements, stories, pictures, and/or videos. 3. The parts of an enterprises Strategic Plan could be viewed as EA components are Strategic Plan (Strategic Goals, & Initiatives) and E-Commerce/E-Government Plan. Why? Based on the meaning of EA Components, EA components are the active elements of the enterprises business and technology operating environment which include IT related strategic goals and initiatives, supply chains, information system software application, etc. E-Commerce/E-Government Plan is more like a tactical plan due to the dynamic nature of IT resources and the processes they support. Ecommerce/E-Government Plan will identify the various IT-related initiatives that may enable of an enterprises strategic goals.
A strategic plan is a high-level policy and planning document that an
enterprise use to document its direction, competitive strategy, most important goals, and the enabling programs and projects (strategic initiatives).
4. Because Business Services is elements of the enterprises business which
enterprise activities that directly contribute to mission accomplishment. This can be in the form of strategic initiatives to develop new or improved services. Information flows, applications, and networks is plug-and-play resources that may extend enterprise-wide or be contained within a specific line of business or segment. The components are several elements of enterprise IT operating components/ IT resources that will support the enterprises business needs. 5. The EA should draw on accepted international, national, and industry standards in order to promote the use of non-proprietary commercial solutions in EA components. This in turn enhances the integration of EA components, as well as better supporting the switch out of components when needed. It also can provide some level of flexibility while at the same time ensuring compatibility across the enterprise. Standards may indicate an architectural direction. 6. Elements of a security and privacy program can be viewed as EA components is security solutions. Why? Because the security solutions description provides a high level view of how security is provided for selected resources throughout the enterprise. The security solutions is a solutions for the protection of IT resources active in the business and technology operating environment. The solutions cover four dimensions of security are Operational Security, Data or Information Security, Personnel Security, and Physical Security. 7.
