Notebook 4 Final

This document defines basic electrical components including batteries that convert chemical to electrical energy, capacitors that store electrical charges, resistors that resist current flow, and diodes that only allow current in one direction. It also explains that transformers contain coils that can increase or decrease voltage in the secondary coil based on the number of turns in each coil. The document was created by Christina Swanson for her RTE 141 class and covers 4 pages of content.

BATTERY: device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy

CAPACITOR: device capable of accumulating and storing an electrical charge.

RESISTOR: device designed to resist the electrical current flow

Christina Swanson RTE 141

DIODE: Current flow in only one direction (left to right)

Transformer: device with two coils which are placed next to one another
without electrical connection. The number of turns in the coils differ which
causes the secondary coil current to change by either increasing or
decreasing voltage.
