Optional:Thex86EmulatorImageforAndroidcanbeacceleratedusingIntelHardwareAcceleratedExecutionManager(HAXM).Formore

Installation
Downloading Manually (Instructions for both Windows and Mac OSX)
1. CloseanyopenSDKorAVDwindows.
2. Gotohttp://www.intel.com/software/android(http://www.intel.com/software/android).
3. ClickTools&Downloads
4. DownloadtheIntelx86AtomSystemImage
(Android*4.4KitKatx86EmulatorSystemImage).
Windows
1. NavigatetothedirectorywheretheAndroidSDKislocated.Ifyouinstalledusinganexecutablefortheinstallation,youcanfindthe
AndroidSDKinthefollowinglocations.
1. Ifyouinstalledforeveryoneon64bit:"c:\ProgramFiles(x86)\android"32bit:"c:\ProgramFiles\android"
2. Ifinstalledjustforme:"c:\users\<username>\AppData\local\android"

Using the System Image


1. StarttheAndroidAVDManagerandcreateanewAVD,setting"Target"to"Android4.4APILevel19",and"CPU/ABI"to"IntelAtom
(x86)".
TheIntelAtomx86ImageforAndroidKitKatcanmakeuseofhardwareGPUfeaturestoincreasetheperformanceofgames,graphics
intensiveprograms,anduserinterfaceelements.Forthebestperformancemakesuretocheckthe"UseHostGPU"Boxwhencreating
theimage.
Note:ThefunctionalityandperformanceofGPUaccelerationishighlydependentonyourcomputersgraphicscardandgraphicsdrivers.
GPUaccelerationmustbeenabledonaperAVDbasis.

Note:ifthe"IntelAtom(x86)"CPU/ABIoptionisnotavailable,makesurethatthesystemimageisinstalledcorrectly.Youcanconfirmthe
systemimageinstallationbyopeningtheAndroidSDKmangerandlookingatthestatusoftheIntelx86AtomSystemImageunder
Android4.4(API19)
2. Clickthe"CreateAVD"button.
