Week 1. Mathematics in the School & My Classroom.

Examine the table of contents for the math textbook used at your Teaching
Practice Placement.
My MST uses McGraw-Hill Education to teach the students math subject.
o How does the content align with the CCSS for your grade level?
The students book includes different units. The first three units are about
making children learn the numbers by writing and represent it by using
manipulatives. Then, they will start working in adding, subtraction, place
value.etc. As I saw that there is a connection between the lessons and the
standard. Its easy for students to learn it.

Observe the math classroom arrangement (desks, shelves, materials, walls,


etc.) Take pictures to post in your portfolio.

Post the typical weekly schedule for one group of students for all their classes.

Examine your MSTs lesson plans. Take pictures or collect samples to post in
your portfolio.
o How does she write plans for the week?
My MST uses the lesson plans that done by a ministry. Before each lesson,
she read the lesson plan to prepare the things for the lesson.

o For the semester?


At the beginning of the semester, teachers have met with a coordinator to discuss the
lesson plans.
