1.LaunchLabVIEWandopenthehostVI.

2.SelectToolsSITConnectionManagertolaunchtheSITConnectionManagerdialogbox.
3.EntertheIPaddressandportoftheSITServerintheSimulationEnvironmenttextbox.Ifthehostcomputeris
thesameastheexecutionhost,usethedefaultvalueoflocalhosttospecifythattheSITServerisrunningonthe
hostcomputer.
4.ClicktheOKbutton.
5.DisplaythefrontpanelofthehostVI.
6.ClicktheRunbuttoninLabVIEWtorunthehostVI.
(RealTimeTarget)WhenyourunthehostVI,theLabVIEWSimulationInterfaceToolkitdownloadsthemodelDLL
anddriverVItotherealtime(RT)target.
7.ClicktheRunSimulationfrontpanelbuttonofthehostVItostartthesimulation.
8.AdjustthevaluesoftheLabVIEWcontrolsandobservethechangesontheLabVIEWindicators.Becauseyou
createdmappingsbetweenthesecontrolstothemodelparameters,whenyouadjustthevaluesofthecontrols,the
parametervaluesofthemodelchange.UsingLabVIEW,youcanchangetheparametersofthemodeland
immediatelyviewtheresults.Youalsocanchangethevalueofmultipleparametersatonce.Ifyoutrytochange
thevalueofaparameterwhosevaluecannotchangeatruntime,youreceiveanerror.
9.ClickthePauseSimulationfrontpanelbuttontopausethesimulation.Toresumethesimulation,clickthePause
Simulationbuttonagain.YoucannotpauseasimulationthatisrunningonanRTtarget.
10.ClicktheStopSimulationfrontpanelbuttontostopthesimulation.
NoteIfyouarerunningthesimulationonanRTtarget,orifyouarerunningamodelDLLonaWindows
PC,clickingtheStopSimulationbuttonalsostopsthehostVI.Inthesesituations,youdonotneedto
clicktheStopHostVIbuttonalso.
11.Ifyouarerunningthesimulationinasimulationenvironment,clicktheStopHostVIfrontpanelbuttontostopthe
hostVI.
NoteIfthesimulationisrunningwhenyouclicktheStopHostVIbutton,thesimulationcontinuesto
run.Tostopthesimulation,youmustrunthehostVIagainandclicktheStopSimulationbutton.
