Name of Lesson: Multiples of 10, 100 and 1000.

Strengths

Needs improvement

The lesson did not start off with the tr


explaining, she had sts do some work and then
asked them to draw a conclusion.
All the activities were focused on Math but were
interesting.
Large groups had been broken down into smaller
groups. The class tr mentioned that she planned
to keep them this way.
Ther is clear progression in the lesson and
towards the end the tr gives them problems like
4x ______= 28000

More animation and excitement. Tr has a


very quiet personality.
Take more risks.

Tr had sts conclude, then emphasized their findings, then used a story/ role play.
The tr elicited the fact that repeated addition is the same as multiplication, but could possibly
have dramatized it more to make it more memorable and really clarify the relationship.
Tr used a table to try and clarify to the sts, it utilized the idea of tens and ones, but then the
practice that was given consisted of hundreds and even thousands for some sts, so it confused
more than clarified.
Tr demonstrated all the basics of a good lesson and taught a strong math lesson. In the future
she needs to take more risks and try new methods.
