The document outlines safety procedures and experiments to be conducted on pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic devices and control systems in a lab setting.

Cadets and trainees must get permission from and follow the instructions of the instructor. Cell phones must be turned off or silenced, disruptive behavior is prohibited, and conversations must be kept quiet. Respect must be shown towards others in the lab.

Components that will be used include air compressors, hydraulic pumps, reservoirs, storage and conditioning components, flow and direction control valves, and actuating devices.

Name of the Institution

SOP NO.: PCL /01/16

Standard Operating Procedure Manual

Rev No.: 0

Date: 10.11.16

Purpose

Guideline for cadets and trainees using Control Lab.

To enable the cadets and trainees to get a knowledge of practical application of
pneumatic, electro pneumatic and hydraulic devices including connecting and controlling
devices from a programmable logic controller, PLC.
To enable the cadets and trainees to understand the construction and function of
components in pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, identify and use control
schematics, design and troubleshoot elctro-pneumatic circuits.

Procedure
a. Cadets and trainees will report to concern instructor and sign the training record
sheet.
b. Instructor will demonstrate all pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic
symbols and experiments.
c. Cadets and trainees will not use any tools and/equipment without instructors
permission or instruction.
d. Cell Phones are to be turned off or set to silent while in the lab.
e. Disruptive behavior-Such as shouting or cursing will not be tolerated.
f. Loud Conversations-Should be kept to a minimum while in the lab. If a cadet
needs to converse with another cadet, conversations are to be conducted in a
quiet manner that will not disturb other lab users. Cadets who become
disruptive will be asked to leave.
g. Cadets working in the lab are expected to show respect toward other cadets,
faculty and staff. Loitering or socializing in the labs is not allowed. Open
labs are quiet areas-loud talking, holding conversations is not allowed.
