Information and Resources

The Path to CCDA Certification

1. Find out if youre ready to take the exam. A course called
Designing Cisco Networks (DCN) prepares candidates for
the CCDA certification exam. Find the course description on
the Training site and read the course objectives. If you can
perform the tasks listed, go to step 5.

2. Determine your training needs. Now find and read the

prerequisites for the DCN course. If you can meet the
prerequisites, go to step 4.
3. Develop fundamental skills with self-paced training.
Purchase the Internetworking Technology Multimedia (ITM)
CD at the Cisco Learning Store on the Training site. Use the
CD to become familiar with the terminology, protocols, and
devices you need to understand before taking DCN.
4. Develop the specific skills in an e-learning or instructorled course. Read about the e-learning and instructor-led
versions of the DCN course. Decide which version best
meets your needs and, using the Learning Locator on the
Training site, find a Cisco Learning Partner that offers it.
