CPIAs Marine-based Projects
Zero Pellet Loss is a priority for the global plas=cs industry,
and an important issue for our environment
Spilled pellets can make their way into local waterways, and
eventually end up in the oceans

Opera=on Clean Sweep (OCS) is an interna=onal program
designed to prevent resin pellet, ake or powder loss and help

keep pellets, akes and powder out of the marine
environment
SPI rst launched OCS in 1992; new campaign started in 2011
with SPI, ACC and CPIA providing joint outreach and educa=on
CPIA is the Canadian licensee of OCS and promotes the program
to the Canadian plas=cs value chain, including our members as

well as non-member companies
Currently, 113 Canadian OCS registrants, including 107 individual
companies and 6 supporter partners
Launched the Clean Sweep newsleOer for all par=cipa=ng
companies and associa=ons
Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

CPIA sponsors and par=cipates in the
annual na=onal cleanup event
GCSC is an ini=a=ve of Vancouver
Aquarium Marine Science Centre and

WWF-Canada, and is Canadas largest
contributor to the Interna=onal Coastal
Cleanup
Throughout 22-year history of GCSC,
more than 1.2 million kilograms of shoreline liOer have been

removed from Canadian waterways
In 2014, nearly 140,000 kg of liOer was removed from 2,500
km of shorelines across Canada
2015 Pilot Project with Great Lakes
