1. The competition will be held in Vilnius:
for pianists September 14 22, 2015
for organists September 14 23, 2015
2. The competition is open to pianists and organists from all countries:
pianists born not earlier than January 1, 1985;
organists born not earlier than January 1, 1980.
Note: The competition is not open to previous 1st prize winners of this competition.

2. Entries must be submitted by May 31, 2015 and accompanied by:
a) a copy of birth certificate or passport;
a) a copy of birth certificate or passport;
b) a brief creative biography;
c) copies of documents pertaining to music studies, specifying the names of instructors;
d) copies of diplomas awarded at international music competitions;
e) two photographs (black and white, 12x9, or not exceeding 3 MB);

f) exact programmes for each of the three competition rounds;


g) a copy of payment of 60 EUR enrolment fee.

1. On June 1, 2015, all the entries received will be forwarded for consideration to the commission
comprised of The Management of the Competition.
2. Applicants will be informed about the status of their applications by June 15, 2015. Notice of
rejection will be accompanied by an enrolment fee refund (bank transfer fees deducted).
Note: The enrolment fee will not be refunded to competitors who fail to arrive at the competition.

IV
1. The jury of the International M.K. iurlionis Piano and Organ Competition will award 12 prizes
as follows:
to pianists: 3 prizes for laureates and 3 prizes for diploma holders;
to organists: 3 prizes for laureates and 3 prizes for diploma holders.

Laureates: I prize EUR 10 000


II prize EUR 6 000
III prize EUR 3 000
Diploma holders: EUR 1000 each
2. The jury of the competition will also award two special prizes:
to pianists EUR 1000 for the best performance of M.K. iurlionis cycle in the
2nd round and M. K. iurlionis Fugue in B flat minor, VL345;
to organists EUR 1000 for the best performance of M.K. iurlionis pieces.
3. Additional special prizes:
- A Concert at Lithuanian National Philharmonic Hall (for pianist)
- A Concert at Rigas Doms (at Riga's Cathedral, for organist) on the 25th of September in 2015.*

*Note: The winners of the additional special prizes must participate at the concerts.
V
1. Roundtrip travel to Vilnius is the responsibility of each competitor.
2. Accommodation and board during the first round are the responsibility of each competitor.
3. The Management of the Competition provide competitors who get to the final round with
accommodation (not exceeding EUR 35 per day) and board free of charge until the end of the
competition.
4. The organising committee will provide pianists and organists with rehearsal facilities, organists
will be provided with assistants as well.
5. Competitors may familiarize themselves with sheet music by Lithuanian composers proposed for
the competition and organ dispositions at www.ipmc.lt.
6. Competitors must register with the Secretariat in person:
pianists on September 13, 2015
organists on September 11, 2015
Note: Dates of the registration may change because of the number of the applicants.

VI
1. The competition will be held in three stages:
a) 1st Round,
b) 2nd Round,
c) Final (with orchestra for pianists).
All stages are open to the public.
2. Competitors will draw lots to determine their order of appearance, separate for pianists and
organists, this order remains unaltered until the end of the competition.
3. Pianists have to perform their music programme from memory.
4. Competitors may choose the order of their programme in each round.
5. 2nd Round is limited to no more than half of the number of pianists competing in 1st Round, and
to no more than 12 organists.
6. The Final is limited to no more than 6 pianists and 6 organists.
7. Decisions of the jury are final and not subject to appeal.

VII
1. Chosen competition laureates, diploma holders and winners of the special prizes are obliged to
take part in the final concerts of the competition without remuneration.
2. The Management of the Competition reserve the right to permit all competition performances and
final concerts to be broadcast over radio and television, and to be produced as audio, video, film,
CD, tape cassette, and vinyl recordings without remuneration to the competitors.
3. The jury has the right to award no more than 3 laureates and 3 diploma holders. The 1st prize is
not divisible. In the event that a higher level prize is not awarded, the jury has the right to award
additional lower level prizes, totalling no more than 3 laureate and 3 diploma prizes.
4. In the event of any discrepancies, the Lithuanian text shall prevail.
5. The next International M.K. iurlionis Piano and Organ Competition is planned for 2019.

II ROUND

2. One full piece by Johann Sebastian Bach selected from a list below:

3. Free programme (one or several pieces, or separate parts of pieces) of individual choice.
Note: The entire duration of the programme performed in the FINAL ROUND may not exceed 50
minutes. Pieces performed in the I and II Rounds may not be repeated.
