CSFB Parameters

This document discusses changes to network parameters to reduce latency in the CSFB process. SENDUTRANECSCFLAG (BSC Level)

In the CSFB process, MS report UTRAN Class mark Change message. UTRAN class mark
update is used for HO between 2G and 3G and it is controlled by the parameter mentioned
in heading. In JHL_BSC the current value is YES which should be changed to NO as there
are no 3G Neighbors for LTE sites, thus there is no need to send class mark as it is obvious
that CSFB will be on inferior technology as it is only available option.

SendUtranECSCFlag. The turned off switch will reduce Network Latency by the
factor of almost 100 ms. However, the value may vary as there are other factors involved
in network latency as well.

IMMASSCBB (Cell Level)

If IMMASSCBB is enabled the Channel Activation and Immediate Assign Command will
be sent at the same time which will reduce network latency by 30-40ms almost.
Currently, in our network, on some cells, it is already enabled. It Can be enabled on all
Mirpur City Cells in the first step to see if it has the desired impact on network latency or
not.
