This is a 2-day course designed for the first responder and the
basic to intermediate investigator / examiner. This course builds
on the concepts imparted in the CMFF course and exposes
students to the fundamentals of mobile device investigations,
logical extraction of user data, and analysis of mobile devices.
Operation of the Cellebrite UFED product to perform a number
of hands-on logical extractions on various mobile devices with a
variety of operating systems is a key component of this class. Skill
sets also include creating Safety SIMs and extracting evidentiary
data from SIM cards. Participants also create reports on findings
and are exposed to the free UFED Reader and how to use that
to multiply investigative efforts. It should be noted that times
allocated to course content do not include course introduction.

In this module, you will obtain a baseline on how cellular devices work
and begin to discuss possible artifacts of interest from an investigative
point of view.

In this module, you will begin to learn how you can become a more
effective examiner by understanding the dynamic nature of the
technology and proactively researching emerging trends to remain in
step with the people you will be investigating.

Discuss current trends in mobile device applications and their
implications with regard to digital forensics

In this module, you will demonstrate how to process a crime scene


involving mobile devices and discuss the implications for pertinent
physical and digital evidence recovery.

In this module, we focus on the operation and best practices of using


UFED solutions that are logically licensed. We explain the differences
between the UFED Touch device and UFED 4PC software and their
capability to perform extractions, conduct analysis, and generate
reports.

In this module, we will discuss how the UFED Reader enables an


end user to open reports, perform their own searches, and conduct
analysis on the acquired information.

Import a UFDR file into UFED Reader for analysis and reporting

Certification Examination and Practical


120 minutes (2 hours)

The CCLO certification examination and practical assessment validates


the students understanding of product functionality and measures
skills and knowledge necessary to successfully extract evidentiary data
from mobile devices.
