Learning How to Learn
Heres how it works:
Every student progresses at their pace through an individual
program of worksheets and questions premeditated by the
instructor, these worksheets increase in difficulty incrementally.
Students complete day-to-day assignments which require
approximately 30 minutes per subject every day. They also
spend two periods a week at the Kumon Center, and the other
five at home.

 Step by rational step, students gradually build a robust and solid

grasp of mathematics and reading, and become increasingly selfconfident and self-motivated with each worksheet solved.
Kumon Worksheets
The Kumon Worksheets pay an integral role in the solidarity of
the Kumon Method, and are fundamental to academic success.
These worksheets cover everything from arithmetic to advanced
calculus from phonics to Shakespeare (they are divided into
levels based on the alphabet from A-K, and increase in skill and

What is the franchise fee and capital required?

You require a net worth of $150,000 and liquid capital of $70,000

Initial Franchisee Fees $1,000 if you are obtaining your first
Kumon Center Franchise, much less if this is your Deposit Fee

Steps to become a Franchisee!
It requires 7 simple steps in order to establish your own Kumon
centre
Location
First and foremost, evaluate your location; is it the most optimal
for a Kumon centre location? Then look to check if there is a
franchise opportunity available in your area. If there is absolutely
no opportunity available, please propose the area to us and we
may consider establishing your Kumon centre in the proposed
location.
Application
Afterwards, please compete and submit the application. Each
application will be very thoroughly reviewed by our Franchise
Development Department and you may be further contacted for
an initial phone interview to cover the basics of the Kumon
franchise.
Kumon Franchise Seminar
After the initial interview you will be required to attend a Kumon
Franchise seminar. Attending a franchising seminar will edify you
on the goal of becoming a Kumon Franchisee, and will most likely
answer question that you have about Kumon, these seminars are
held monthly, you should contact your Franchise recruiter about
a seminar situated near you
Interviewing Process
Consequently, if you qualified all the aforementioned steps,
Kumon will conduct a more extensive interview with you and

Financial and Background Check
Kumon conducts the standard background check and financial
assessment for prospective franchisees. This is done to ensure
that you can meet the necessary financial obligations required
for the initial investment and startup costs (which tend to be
lower compared to other types of franchises).
Also, a completion of the FBI finger print background check is
required prior to attending the Kumon Training Program.
Initial Training
Once approved, you must complete the obligatory 13-Day
Instructor Development Training Program and in Center

Do I need a background in education?
Though experience in the education world can be valuable, it is

Training Expenses
Training Agreement Deposit Fee For new Kumon Franchisees, a
single payment deposit fee of $500 will go to Kumon for the
Training Kit for Start-Up Training. the Deposit Fee goes towards
your Initial Franchise Fee if you successfully complete Start-Up
Training and sign a Franchise Agreement.
Expenses While Training Expenses you will be required to pay
may include transportation, lodging, meals and other costs. The
amount of these expenses will depend on your proximity to your
Branch office, Kumon University and to the Kumon Center we
have approved for your training.
Kumon trains qualified franchisees in the Kumon Curriculum and
the Kumon Learning Method, as well as in business strategies for
owning and operating a Kumon Centre. Kumon Centre owners
also take part in our continuing education programs.
Franchise Agreement
Once all the necessary training is complete, the center location
has to have been approved and you have successfully completed
the entire Kumon Training program, Kumon will propose an offer
for your Kumon centre. Kumon staff will then help you prepare
your centre for opening.
