3 2 10documentation

The document provides calculations for footing sizing and column loads for four columns supporting the Keystone Library. It is determined that the existing footing sizes of 49 square feet are insufficient for Columns 3 and 4, which require 54 and 59.625 square feet respectively. Interior and exterior girder designs are also analyzed, with wide flange steel sections selected based on moment, shear, and deflection requirements.

Column Load Calculations

Column 2: (25800 * 2) + (51600 * 2) = 154800 lbs
Column 3: 12* 30 (50) = 18000 lbs
18000 lbs + 154800 = 172800 lbs
Column 4: (24*30) (50) = 36000 lbs
36000 lbs + 154800 = 190800 lbs
Soil Bearing Pressure Calculations
Footing dimensions = 84 x 84 x 24
Soil Bearing Pressure = 3500 psf
2 * 150 lbs/ft^3 = 300 psf
3500 psf - 300 psf = 3200 psf
Required Footing Area Calculations
Column 2:
154800 lbs/ 3200 psf = 48.375 sf
Column 3:
172800 lbs/ 3200 psf = 54 sf
Column 4:
190800 lbs/ 3200 psf = 59.625 sf
Comparison of Required Area to Existing Area
Column 2:
49 >= 48.375 :)
Column 3:
49 <= 54 :(
Column 4:
49 <= 59.625 :(
