ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Karpagam Institute of Technology is established in the


year 2007 by Karpagam Charity Trust, under the
dynamic leadership of Dr.R.Vasanthakumar, Chairman,
Karpagam Institutions. The All India Council for
Technical Education, New Delhi and The Government
of Tamil Nadu has granted approval for the college. It is
affiliated to ANNA University, Chennai. It offers Five
Undergraduate programmes in B.E. and B.Tech. Ph.D
Scholars are also carrying out research in various
disciplines. It is located in the heart of Coimbatore city
at a distance of 10 kilometers from the railway station
and airport.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT


The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been
functioning since the year 2009. It offers a richly
integrated curriculum of education and research to the
students. The Department is well equipped with state-ofthe-art laboratories and infrastructural facilities in thrust
areas. The department maintains a close liaison with
number of universities and industries within and outside
the country through faculty research and collaborative
projects.
