B. Review
C. Motivation
Showing of pictures that depict different people and situations
such as:
a crying child
a dirty river
a big crowd in the mall
Ask the students why they think the child is crying or why
the river is dirty or why there is a big crowd gathered in the
mall. Write down all their answers on the board, arranged in a
concept web, with the subject at the center.
D. Lesson Proper
1. The teacher will let the students differentiate cause from effect
using a T-Chart.
2. The teacher will elicit examples of cause and effects from the
class, such as things that possibly happen to them in school or
at home.

Fish Bone
1. The students will be divided into (7) seven groups. Each group
will be given sentence strips (cause or effect situations) and will
make a fish bone diagram (a type of graphic organizer for cause
and effect).
2. Each group will choose a representative to present and to report
their output using a strategy called Jigsaw Puzzle.
Note: The group activity will be graded by scoring rubrics.
F. Generalization
The students will write what have they learned about cause and
effect through a one-minute paper.
