SAP Analysis: Steps For Building Analysis

The document outlines the steps for building an analysis model in SAP, including: 1) defining materials, sections, loads, and restraints; 2) creating beams, columns, and slabs; 3) applying loads, mass sources, and diaphragms; 4) meshing and running the analysis; and 5) performing dynamic analysis by defining a response spectrum and adjusting scale factors to match calculated story shear values.

Dynamic Analysis

First change EQ load to user design load and insert the value of storey shear from
calculation.
Define response spectrum function.
Define response spectrum cases RSX with scale factor 1 in U1 and RSY with scale
factor1 in U2.
Run the program and find the summation of RSX and RSY.
Divide EQ/RS to find new scale factor.
Change the scale of the response cases to the new ones.
Run the program.
Design the program.
