Research Project Proposal Guidelines v6

This document provides guidelines for students to follow when writing a research project proposal for the Foundation Year Program in 2016-2017. It specifies the formatting requirements, including paper size, margins, font, and page numbering. It outlines four sections that must be included: 1) a working title phrased as a question, introduction, and research questions; 2) a list of assumptions; 3) an outline of main ideas; and 4) annotated bibliographies for three sources. Each section has specific content that must be addressed, such as justifying the topic's relevance, providing a thesis statement, and evaluating sources. The proposal aims to demonstrate awareness of academic style and a logical structure to develop an argument related to the research questions.
