To disable write protection on a USB storage device: 1) Open the Registry Editor by searching for "regedit" and navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies. 2) Check for and modify the "WriteProtect" key, changing its value from 1 to 0. 3) Close the Registry Editor, remove then reinsert the USB device, which should now allow writing without restrictions.

Click on your Start Menu and type regedit into the Search for programs

and filesfield. Youll see something like the image below.

Hit your Enter key. The Registry Editor window will now open. By clicking
on the arrows next to the menu items, navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDev
icePolicies

and look for a key named WriteProtect.

If that key exists, right-click on it and click on Modify.

Now, youll probably find that the value for this is set to 1. 1 means Yes,
write protect my USB storage device. So you can guess that 0 means No,
dont write protect my USB storage device. Now change that value
to 0 and click on the OKbutton.

Close Registry Editor, remove your USB device and then plug it back in
again. You should now be able to write to your USB stick.
