Wishes and Hopes
I wish I could know
what things to do
then freedom rings untrue
Then I would wish
I were a knight
to free myself from a tyrants might,
I wish I could sing a song
to cheer up every aching heart
I wish I could reach
Heavens might
with hymns to praise
Gods loving might.
I wish I could shine a light
to brighten mans
unhappy life
I wish I could have
the power to stop
The senseless bloodshed and the strife
But then you see,
Im just a child
to hope I can have
wishes mild
To hope I can
In my own way
Make all my dreams
Come true today.
