TASK 3
A. What is the importance of language? Give examples where language shows
importance.
Language is very essential for us human beings. It is the medium for
communication. Communicating to other individuals is vital because in order to
survive, people need each others help. Language also helps us to express our
thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. Since language is the medium for communication,
for us to be able to express our feelings to other individuals, we must tell to them
orally or it can also be written in a common language that both of you and the
receiver know.
B. How important is to know the different language varieties? Cite your situations that
support your answer.
It is very important to know the different language varieties because to have
an effective communication to other individuals or to other people, both parties
must know a common language that they can understand and use since language is
creative and dynamic which means language is modifiable in many ways and there a
ton of different language in the world. Knowing language varieties can help us
determine what language a person use since there are more varieties of language.

C. Give the distinct features of each language registers. Provide additional example for
each language registers.
1. Static Register This style of communications rarely or never changes.
Example: The laws implemented by the government.
2. Formal Registers This language is used in formal settings and is one-way in
nature.
Example: Rhetorical statements and questions.
3. Consultative Register This is a standard form of communications. The
users are engage in a mutually accepted structure of communication.
Example: The communication between a superior and a subordinate.
4. Casual Register This is an informal language used by peers and friends.
Example: Communicating with close friends.
5. Intimate Register This communication is private.
Example: Communication between a husband and wife.
D. What is the relevance of these pieces of information in the future?

The relevance of knowing the language varieties and registers will be a guide
for us on how to communicate with other people. It is not only to know and
understand what kind of language a person is using but also to know the way of how
to use language to other of individual in terms of the position or rank of both of the
users who are engage in a discussion or just a simple conversation.
