10 - Creation of Logic Function

This document describes the steps to create a logic function using a logic chart block in a control system: 1) Define common switches used as inputs. 2) Create a control drawing by selecting logic, input, and output elements and wiring them. 3) Create a control window to view and test the logic chart, assigning tag names to elements. 4) Test the logic chart's operation by changing modes and switches to trace the logic flow.

CREATION OF LOGIC FUNCTION

10. CREATION OF LOGIC FUNCTION

Logic Chart Block (LC64) may combine or arrange the signals of other function
blocks, process I/O and software I/O into an application for interlock sequence
control.

Aim : To create a logic chart.

10.1 Common Switch Definition

Procedure :
1. Select [SWITCH] folder from the [FCS0101] folder. Then double-click on the [SwitchDef]
as shown below.

Double click here.

10.2 Control Drawing Creation

Procedure :
1. Select [FUNCTION BLOCK] folder from the [FCS0101] folder and then double click on
[DR0031] to create [SQ222-11

2. Select
from the Control Panel to select Input Element, Output Element and Logic
Operation Element.

3. Select

from the Control Panel to wire each of the Logic element.

SRS1-R (1 output), SRS2-R (2 outputs): Flip-Flop (Reset-Dominant)

It gives one output or two outputs shown in the following truth table based on the set and
reset input signals.
One flip-flop operation is counted as two logic operation elements.

OND: On-Delay Timer

When the input status changes from 0 to 1, the internal timer starts. When the set time t
elapsed, its output changes from 0 to 1.
When the input status changes to 0, the output will be reset to 0 immediately.

10.3 Control Window Creation

Procedure :
1. Create [CG0012] from the [WINDOW] folder under the [HIS0164] folder. Assign the
following tag names as shown below:

10.4 Confirming Operation with Test Function

Procedure :
1. Call the graphic window [CG0012] from the [Navigator] window or [Name Input] button.
2. Set the mode of the logic chart [SQ222-11] to AUT and also the OND (1) and OND (2) to
10 seconds (delay time) as shown below:

3. Set the following switches to ON:

SW451-11
SW452-11
SW454-11

CREATION OF LOGIC FUNCTION

The process timer of a logic chart is used to execute the on-delay timer and the off-delay
timer. The timer starts when the logic chart itself changes to AUT mode.
PT01 - 64 Elapsed time of internal timer
