This document is a published paper on the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and nutritional status by body weight in infants aged 6-12 months. The study was conducted in 2013 at the Bukit Hindu Public Health Center in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan and involved 110 mothers with infants in the target age group. The study found that 80% of infants had good nutritional status and 20% had low status, while 80% of mothers practiced exclusive breastfeeding and 20% did not. THE RELATION OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING
TOWARD NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF BODY WEIGHT ACCORDING
TO 6-12 MONTHS OF AGE
(Bukit Hindu Public Health Center, District of Jekan Raya, Palangka Raya on 2013)

Backgraund : Nutritional status is measuring of achievement on nutrition for
children who indicated by body weight according to age of child,body height
according to age of child, body wight according to body height of child.
Breastfeeding without giving complementary breastfeeding and vitamin when infant
hast born until 6 months of age.
Object : To know about relation of exclusive breastfeeding toward nutritional status
of body weight according to 6-12 months of age.
Method : Design of this research is analytical observational with croos-sectional
study. Sample of this research are 110 mothers who has child on 6-12 months of age.
The samples is determined by random sampling method. Collecting data is collecct
by dacin scale for scaling body weight of child and coetionare for mother data
analysis in this research is analysed univariat and bivariat by statystical chi-square
test.
Result : Child who has good nutritional status is 80% and child who has low
nutritional status is 20%. Mother who gives exclusive breastfeeding is 80% and
mother who doest not give exclusive breastfeeding is 20%. According to statystical
analysis shows p-value 0,000 (p<0,05)it shows there is relation between giving
exclusive breastfeeding toward nutritional status of body weight according to 6-12
months of age.
Conclusion : there is relation between giving exclusive breastfeeding toward
nutritional status of body weight according to 6-12 months of age.

Latar Belakang : Status gizi adalah ukuran keberhasilan dalam pemenuhan nutrisi
untuk anak yang di indikasikan oleh tinggi badan badan menurut umur, tinggi badan
menurut berat badan dan berat badan menurut umur anak. ASI Eksklusif adalah
pemberian ASI tanpa adanya makanan dan minuman lain kecuali obat dan vitamin
yang dimulai sejak bayi baru lahir sampai usia 6 bulan.
Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif terhadap status gizi berat
badan menurut umur bayi 6-12 bulan.
Metode : Jenis penelitian observasional analitik dengan menggunakan rancangan
studi cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah ibu yang mempunyai bayi berumur 612 bulan sebanyak 110 orang diperoleh secara random sampling. Pengumpulan data
menggunakan dacin untuk menimbang berat badan bayi dan kuesioner untuk ibu.
Analisis data penelitian ini adalah analisis univariat dan bivariat dengan uji statistik
chi-square.
Hasil : Bayi dengan status gizi baik 80% dan status gizi kurang 20%. Ibu yang
memberikan ASI eksklusif 80% dan ibu tidak memberikan ASI eksklusif 20%.
Diperoleh hubungan antara Pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan status gizi berat badan
menurut umur bayi 6-12 bulan secara statistik signifikan yaitu p =0,000 (p<0,05).
Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif terhadap status gizi berat
badan menurut umur bayi 6-12 bulan.
