This activity mirrors the questions students will answer in the My Culture Unit.
It is a way fun way for students to present and share the information they collected
for their Family Culture Project in the My Culture Unit.
Materials:
5 paper bags (per student)
Copies of the Cover Pages you would like to use
Black & White Version or Color
Stapler or Hole Punch (if you use hole punch string to tie the book together)
Directions for Paper Bag Book Construction:
1. Fold each paper bag in half
2. Stack the paper bags one on top of the other
3. Staple twice on the left side (or hole punch and tie with string if you choose)
Directions for Students:
Hand out the culture sheets to students. Students will draw the appropriate picture
for each sheet, cut out, and then glue into their paper bag books. Students may wish to
include artifacts and pictures about their different cultures in the slots of the paper bags.
The smaller blank pages (slides 25-34) may be used as inserts into the slots.
